januari wishlist

Dit is mijn january wishlist! De producten die ik beslis binnen te halen, deze maand of in een volgende, zal ik zeker reviewen! Hierbij was ook m'n eerste volledig Nederlandse artikeltje, hopelijk vonden jullie het leuk om te lezen (;

Changes are coming up. / Er zijn veranderingen in aantocht!

Hello there (:

As you can see in the title of this item, there will be coming up some changes soon on this blog.
First of all, and probably the most important one, I'm going to change language. I am belgian, so I speak Flemish and that's the language in which I can express myself the best.

So I am planning to trade the English for Dutch.

I know it will be hard to understand for a lot of foreign visitors, as I have visitors from all over the world. But I hope I can reach a wider range of public within Belgium and the Netherlands. If there is any interest for a translation of an article in the future, because the product I write of seems interesting to you, you can always leave a message and I will post a quick translation (:

xoxo Eveline

p.s. : het Engels zal waarschijnlijk niet helemaal verdwijnen uit mijn posts, ik gooi er af en toe wel eens een Engels woordje tussen (;

Evian Brumisateur Facial Spray

Hey you guys!

On a recent shoppingtrip in Antwerp (my soon to be new hometown!), I discovered a new shop, named U. Practically, it's a mix between a pharmacy and a drugstore. They sell vitaminsupplements and herbal treatments, but also make-up from the more expensive brands and babyproducts! A very versatile store! Because it was new, they gave 10% sale on 1 item and I wanted to buy something, so when I saw the Evian Brumisateur (which I was looking for for a while), I immediately bought it. It's available in 50 ml, 150 ml, 300 ml and 400 ml. I bought the 50 ml.

It works in three ways:
1. It hydrates your skin and provides instant freshness.
2. It cares for babies' skin (because it's pH neutral) when they need to cool down.
3. It fixes your make-up.

So, what dus Evian actually promise with this product? We've known the watersprays from different waterbrands for a while now, but this one is a little different. The bottle says: " Used daily, evian Facial Spray increases your skin (outer layers of the skin) hydration, helps to fix your make-up and offers you constant freshness and purity."

I love the packaging, it's clean, simple, it says what it has to say and that's it. That's how I like it.

According to the site, you have to spray it on your face from a distance of 30 cm and let it dry to set your make-up. I started using it as a part of my make-up routine to set my make-up and because I wanted my skin to be more hydrated but not greasy. I've been using it for a week now and I have to say I don't notice that much of a difference, but my skin feels more fresh and less dry during the day and my make-up stays on a little longer, too.

It isn't hot in Belgium anymore, so I only use it to fix my make-up, but when you still have hot temperatures where you live, I would reccomend it as a nice way to stay cool during the day.

Overall, a good product, which I would definitely buy again!

DIY bracelet

Helloo there!

You have probably seen them already, the cute stacking bracelets from rope with little diamants or silver knotted in. I was in the Bauhaus in Germany, when I saw these chains and pink rope and I thought: 'BRACELETS TO BE'

I didn't know how to start making them, so I simply tied the rope around the chain. I made pictures to show you how!

I secured a loop on one end, so you can tie the bracelet around your arm.

Then I kept on knotting the rope around the chain,
so the little balls would peek out.

                                          And the final result!

Hope you enjoy this DIY!

Yves Rocher Hydrating Day Cream

Hey you!

When you read my article about the BB creams from Garnier, you also know I had to start using a more hydrating day and night cream. Because I didn't go to Yves Rocher for a long time (and I was curious about my annual birthday present haha, which was a cute little mirror ) I decided to buy my new cream there.

My attention was first drawn to the Pure Calmille products, because I love chamomile for its overall calming qualities. I often drink chamomile tea to calm myself, so I figured, this wouldn't be bad for my skin! Also, it counts as a day and night cream at the same time. A few days later I gave it a try and the first thing I noticed, was the smell. Whoa, overwhelming. It didn't smell bad, it just reminded me a little bit of the products my grandma always uses. It didn't bother me that much and I applied it. My skin felt immediately soft and it didn't leave a greasy layer on my face. But the smell, it stayed ALL day. I really hoped no one noticed I smelled like my granny haha. Overall: good product.

The next thing I saw were products from culture Bio with Aloe Vera, also one of natures treasures. Aloe is very hydrating, so I figured this one would be nice for the winter time, when my skin gets really dry. When I tried it, I fell in love with it. It is a bit hard to apply, because of its thick texture, but it sure hydrates your skin and it smells delicious. I started using this now, because I like the smell a lot more than the chamomile one haha.

The Pure Calmille day and night cream

The BIO culture cream with aloe vera

Aaaand, I never suffered from dry spots on my face in combination to the use of Garnier's new BB cream!

Garnier BB-cream: Miracle Skin Perfector

Hey girls!

Today, I'm going to compare the 2 BB creams from Garnier. I used the one for normal skin last summer and a part of this summer, but recently I decided to give the new one a try, because I gleamed always more than I wanted (especially on my nose and T-zone) and I always had to use a loose powder to prevent shininess. They both have 2 shades: light and medium, but I picked light for both of them.

The old BB cream, or the one for normal skin has a thick composition, like a day cream and it felt really light. Another plus is the smell. It smells subtle but deliciously fresh.
I always feared it would seem to dark when I put it on, even in the lightest tone, but after a few minutes, it melts together with your skin and it looks natural. The only thing I didn't like? I gleamed like I had been sweating all day! So my solution was using a loose powder. The result was fine, but after a while I got tired of the feeling of putting on a lot of make up. I like the natural look more and if I have to put on kilo's of powder on my face to achieve that, it wasn't worth it.

So, a few weeks ago, I decided to buy the new one for mixed to greasy skin, which I wanted to try since it came into the stores. The package is a slightly different form from the old one, and this wasn't the only different thing. The composition was soooo fluid, it ran out of the tube as soon as you turn it open, it was horrible. After one single week I had to wipe the opening clean, because it had smudged so much. But okay, I gave it a try.
The first week I used it without a day cream underneath it, only a primer from time to time (e.l.f. face primer, review may follow ) and everything seemed fine, my skin looked matte and healthy, it worked out well with a powder blush as well as a cream blush and it didn't slide of my face. The only minus, in contrast to the other one, is the smell. It smells like pure alcohol sometimes and that's absolutely not plesant when you're putting something on your face! I was so afraid it would dry out my skin. And then, a few days later, my fear became truth: my nose and parts of my cheeks became a little flaky, something I only notice when it's extremely cold. So I was thinking I should stop with this BB cream, but since I was so happy about it, I decided to buy me an extra hydrating day and night cream ( Yves Rocher, with aloe vera ) and now my face feels soft as a babyskin again!

Conclusion: the BB creams from Garnier both have their strong points but also a few annoying qualities. But when I had to choose between the two, I would pick the one for mixed to greasy skin, because the result is a lot better actually, for my skin.

bourjois blush - review

Hey you!

Recently I bought a bestseller classic from Bourjois: their famous blush in the round package. The little box includes a brush, mirror and a 'how to use' paper. It has the color of the blush that is in it and golden letters written on it. Package approved I'd say!

One bummer: the drugstore where I bought mine had a big sticker on the side of the box, which I had to peel of first, before I could open it and some residues from the glue stayed, I can't get it off and it gets all dirty!

But whatever, I was very excited to use my blush for the first time - once I managed to get it open haha - and decided to start immediately! It smelled delicious when I opened it, it's that typical bourjois scent...So I tried it on and wow - it was super pigmented! It is a gourgeous color but I wouldn't reccomend using a lot of it, it gets too much very quickly. I first used my own blushbrush to blend it in, but it was way too strong, so the next time I decided to use the brush from the blush itself. Much better! It has a rounded shape, so it fits your cheek perfect and it blends a lot better. And you have to use so little, I think I'll have this blush for yeaaaars!

Bourjois has once again proven his quality!

Summer look!

What is your favorite print for this summer?? You probably noticed almost everything has a print on it this summer and I absolutely love it! Floral print, Union Jacks, stripes, several geometrical forms and ofcourse, the Aztec print, my absolute fave!

At New Look, I found a cute short and a playsuit with the most adorable Aztec print. It gives you an instant summerfeeling. In combination with some fine leather sandals your tan can't be that far away!
It's a perfect look to go to a festival, to the beach, a picnic... and even to a party! Pump it up with some heels and some feathers in your hair or in your earrings and you're ready to go.

Nivea Pure Effect Peeling Wipes

Hey! Here I am again!

I read a while ago about the new peeling wipes from nivea from the pure effect products. Because I'm a huuuuuugeee fan of their pure effect products, I had to buy them! And I have to say, they're amazing. One side of the wipe removes your make-up, which it does well, all my make got removed, except for my mascara, which I had to remove just that little more with eyemakeup remover. The other side of the wipes is the peeling side, which you have to use after removing your make up. It has tiny bubbles on it and gives a mild peeling which I loved. My skin feels cleaner and it doesn't dry out my skin or makes it greasy. After nivea's clear-up strips and their famous nivea cream, this is absolutely one of my new favorite products.

Catrice eyeshadow

Hello everyone!

Today a little review about my recent purchase: the longlasting eyeshadow from Catrice. It's a dark metallic coloured cream eyeshadow named 'Metal of Honor' 050 and it has tiny glitters in it. Normally I really don't like glitter and I still don't, but sometimes I allow a little bit of glitter. I have to say, it stayed on real good, it truly is longlasting. It's a little too dark to wear to school, but I layered it with my mystic lemon eyeshadow from essence, which I reviewed some time ago. Then it looks like a golden colour and it gives a certain dept to my eyes. When I go out, I put it on without mixing it and it looks more dramatic.
Because it isn't a powder eyeshadow, but a cream, it is also suitable to use as a liner. I have to say tough, if I use it as a liner, it doesn't stay on that long as I wish it did.

But in general, it's a really good product!

Valentine's day contest from ModCloth!

Hey there!
ModCloth is an absolutely amazing webshop I recently found out about, while browsing trough 'Connected to fashion' (one of my favourite blogs I'm recently following ). I love almost every item in their shop and my most favourite one is this dress:

It matches my personal style completely! It has navy stripes (also one of the trends of this spring ) a cute small belt and a lace collar. It's amazing.
Ofcourse I liked their facebookpage immediately and trough that I found ModStylist, the stylists of ModCloth who had just brought a contest out! You can win a gift certificate of 100$! The two runner ups win a gift certificate of 75$. All you have to do is styling their peach dress in a perfect match of your own style and ModCloth's ideas. And ofcourse the theme is Valentine's Day. Thats why I chose for a romantic Paris-like style. On the picture beneath you can see my styleboard. If you like it, go to their page and like! Thankyou! xoxo Eveline

DIY scrub

Hello there!

I don't know if you guys follow Michelle Phan, but if you don't, certainly go check her out, because she's amazing! A couple of weeks ago, I found a recipe to make a scrub yourself, to take care of your skin when it gets cold. It's a scrub with sugar, olive oil and honey. I really liked how she described it and I really wanted to try it. So, this weekend, when I got bored, I looked into to my kitchen closets and made the scrub myself! That night, I tried it and oh my! my skin felt soooo soft! It was a mess to apply it, but it was worth it. If you're not as clumsy as me, it will probably look a lot cleaner in your bathroom after using it! I recomend checking out the recipe, go to your kitchen en scrub your face! Michelle said it works good for any type of skin, and not only on your face, but also on other body parts. Enjoy!

xoxo Eveline

p.s. : It also looks nice in little jar with a cute bow, like the one above to give as a present, to your mom for example!

hydrate your lips!

Hey there!
Sooo, now it's getting colder, all those cold has an influence on our skin and esepcially on the one of our lips. It's extremely important to hydrate them sufficiently, to make sure they don't dry out and get those little cracks we all hate. So what should you do, to prevent this?? To start with, use a mild scrub on your lips to get all the dry skin off. You can do this by mixing some sugar with some vaseline and honey and rubbing this gently over your lips, but it works too when you use a soft toothbrush or wet towel to scrub. When your lips are soft and clean, use a good lipbalm. I really recommend Vitamin Shake from Labello, which is absolutely my favorite brand for lipcare. This one has vitamins E, C and B5 in it, it smells like a smoothie and has a subtle color. Something really important I found in this one, but too in many other good lipbalms, is the SPF-factor. It protects your lips from the sun and even in winter, this is something to take care about. And one other important thing: if you don't have your lipbalm with you and you feel your lips are getting dry, please don't lick at them too much, it will only make it worse!

So, with your lips soft and shiny, go give the best kiss you ever gave!

Cutepolish!

I was browsing through youtube the other day and I found the channel of Cutepolish and my oh my, what nice nailpolish DIY did I find there! I thought they were all really amazing and soooo cute! My absolute favorite was the one with the newspaperdesign. It looks so easy and the effect is amazing! Other designs I really liked were the Movember Moustache nails ( to raise awareness for prostate cancer ) and the Minnie Mouse design. I definitely wanted to try some out, but unfortunatly I don't have such long nails as her and the designs look rather weird when I have them on my nails. So I'll stay with litlle polkadots on my nails, which I make with my own dotting tool. It looks nicer on my short nails! Go check it out and try them yourself!
